    Some two years ago, Rose Saidi was just an ordinary girl in her Gladson Village in Traditional Authority (TA) Njema, Mulanje District in Malawi. Having graduated in fashion and design from the Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Mikolongwe Vocational School in Chiradzulu district, Saidi had no idea how to make the most of the knowledge she had acquired.

    Mr. Kajumbi John is a level five graduate of Integrated community learning for wealth creation (ICOLEW) aged 40 years and a member of Tulyesiima Community empowerment group Katula having 42 participants. He Is one of the successful grandaunts who used to attend ICOLEW session regularly which equipped him with a wide range of skills to address challenges regarding low household income.

    DVV International in Malawi continues to honour the media’s efforts in promoting Adult Learning and Education (ALE). On 3rd May, the organisation joined a team of Non-Governmental and corporate organisations in commemorating the Word Press Freedom Day (WPFD), an event which took place at Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu City, the northern part of Malawi. The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) – Malawi Chapter organised the event to honour journalists in various categories.
