ICOLEW Report
Largely, 40% of sponsored parents are not able to read and write at enrollment onto the sponsorship program. This hinders participation in Unbound programs such as, programs that involve families communicating with their sponsored friends in writing. The program therefore, helps Unbound Kampala to improve meaningful participation of parents in program activities by equipping them with reading, writing and numeracy skills. The ICOLEW program promotes livelihoods strengthening that requires family heads to have the capacity to keep records and to do simple research e.g. from newspapers but also since the technology now permits, seek for information on the internet.UNBOUND set out to run 16 ICOLEW CEGs in its areas of operation -Kyotera District Local Government, in three Sub Counties of: Kyebe 8, Nabigasa 2, Kasasa 2 and in Rakai DLG: Lwanda Sub County.
