YoWDO exists to unlock youth with disabilities’ hidden potential while promoting their rights and opportunities for inclusive and equitable development.
Youth With Disabilities Organization- YoWDO is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in February 2021. The organization was founded and led by young males and females with disabilities who embrace all types of disabilities. Driven by a deep understanding of the unique challenges and untapped potential of young people with disabilities, YoWDO fills a critical gap in the Tanzanian civil society landscape.
Through its dedicated efforts, the organization is making a significant contribution to creating a more equitable and inclusive society where every young person, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
YoWDO strives to impact the lives of young people with disabilities through the following objectives:
- Enhance economic skills and social engagement capacity of youth with disabilities.
- Enhance policy engagement and advocacy effectiveness for youth with disabilities.
- Facilitate an access to productive resources and educational opportunities for youth with disabilities.
- Promote opportunities for youth with disabilities to access an inclusive and education and effective career advancement.
- Strengthen the capacity of youth with disabilities and their organizations to advocate for their rights and solve their disability-related challenges.
- Advocate for an access of inclusive health services ensuring health stability of youth with disabilities.
