We are pleased to announce that the call for applications to join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) is now open from 15 May to 15 June 2025. We invite cities committed to promoting lifelong learning to seize this opportunity and become part of a vibrant global community dedicated to inclusive, sustainable, and innovative learning.

GNLC membership offers cities access to international policy dialogue, peer learning, capacity-building, and recognition on a global stage. Coordinated by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), the network currently connects over 350 member cities across all UNESCO regions.

By joining the GNLC, cities benefit from:

• Practical tools and expert support to develop local lifelong learning policies;
• Participation in a global community of practice and international events;
• Increased visibility for local initiatives and eligibility for the UNESCO Learning City Award.
