My experience in adult learning and education
I started work in Adult Learning and Education in 1992 during the establishment of an Adult Literacy Project in our community. Adult Education became formalised to equip people with formal qualifications as well as catering for students who could not cope in mainstream schools. Our organisation, Adult Learning Forum is advocating for inclusion of non-formal education in the current Community Learning Centres. I have been involved with ALE long before it became formalised. I started a literacy project in my community, surrounding the school where I taught. I am currently the administrator of the Adult Learning Forum, an organisation that lobbies and agitates for change in the sector,
