My experience in adult learning and education
I hold a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning. Since my graduation, I have been a strong advocate for adult education, firmly believing that children’s education cannot be fully achieved or sustainably maintained without the education and empowerment of adults. Despite persistent policy challenges and limited governmental commitment, I have made continuous efforts to promote adult learning through all available opportunities. In this regard, I played a key role in establishing the Department of Adult Education at Bahir Dar University, which initially began as a bachelor’s degree program and later expanded into a master’s program, producing a significant number of qualified graduates. Furthermore, I initiated a Master’s program in Adult Education at Mekelle University, where I currently serve as an Associate Professor and actively contribute to teaching, research, and program development.
