Mission Statement
To contribute to the development of the government's overall strategy for literacy and non-formal education (NFE);
To regulate non-formal education in the Democratic Republic of Congo:
- To improve the quality, relevance and effectiveness of literacy/non-formal education activities for development;
- Design and dissemination of literacy, remedial, post-literacy and rehabilitation programmes and techniques for young people and adults;
- Design, production and dissemination of teaching and learning materials for the non-formal education system;
- Coordinate, supervise, monitor and evaluate training activities in the non-formal sector;
- Produce annual statistical data;
- To train the technical staff of the Ministry and its partners;
- Produce and implement literacy programmes and campaigns on national radio, television and other media.
