Jetu during her visit in South Africa

In Malawi and many parts of Southern Africa, Jetu has become a household name. This is a stage name for the 72-year-old Christina Kholiyo, a new musician who has just launched her music career late in life. She has amazed fans by creating content that many would have never expected from someone her age. Jetu has so far released two powerful songs:

Wakalamba Wafuma (https://www.youtube.com/watch?...), and

Chakwaza (https://www.youtube.com/watch?...).

Furthermore, she has already featured in a number of songs with younger musicians.

In a world where age is often seen as a barrier to success, Jetu has defied all odds to achieve her dream. Jetu's determination and passion have inspired countless adults to pursue their goals, no matter their age. This is in keeping with the principles of adult learning and education (ALE) which encourages adults to acquire various skills to help them economically and to develop as individuals.

The Malawian amapiano queen’s journey to stardom began last year. Her success is a testament to the fact that adults should never give up on their dreams. Her story shows that with hard work, and willingness to learn, anyone can achieve their goals, regardless of age. Jetu's journey is an inspiration to all those who feel that their time has passed, that they are too old to start anew, or that their dreams are unattainable.

Jetu's story also highlights the importance of lifelong learning. Adults often assume that their learning days are behind them, but Jetu's example proves that this is not the case. Her willingness to learn and adapt has allowed her to succeed in a new field, and her passion for music has given her a new lease on life.

So, what can people learn from Jetu's inspiring journey? Firstly, that age is just a number, and it should never hold anyone back from pursuing their dreams. Secondly, that lifelong learning is essential for personal growth and success. And finally, that with determination and hard work, people can overcome any obstacle and achieve their goals.

As people reflect on Jetu's story, they should remember that it is never too late to start anew. For example, if an adult has always wanted to learn how to read and write, or acquire new life skills, now is the time to take action. They should enroll in ALE classes to acquire various skills such as tailoring or carpentry or modern farming techniques.

It is important for everyone to support adults so that they can achieve their dreams. It took the efforts of Jetu’s grandson, popularly known as Emmu Dee in the music industry, who spotted music talent in his grandmother. He is currently managing Jetu.

In media interviews, Jetu has always said that her dream has been to do well in music and to be able to fly to South Africa to meet her youngest daughter. The dream has indeed come true as she has managed to fly to the rainbow nation for both live performances and to meet her family. She met her daughter after 14 years. Tears trickled down Jetu’s face when she met her daughter upon arrival in South Africa. As we publish this article, Jetu is still in South Africa performing live at various venues.
